The Hot Spot

Nicki Minaj shows off a pink ‘do on the cover of Allure magazine’s April 2012 issue.
Why does this woman—who played a dominatrix in a video with model corpses in lingerie (Kanye West's "Monster"), and who proudly proclaims, "I'm a big deal/That's why I get more head than a pigtail"—also have an audience of insanely devoted eight-year-olds? "I think as far as the younger demo is concerned, I play dress-up," Minaj says. "I also can put on a very cartoonish voice. So sometimes children may not know what I'm saying, but they like the sound of it, and they think I sound like some weird character."
Minaj remembers being fascinated with her hair when she was nine. "I was doing every- and anything to it—putting in wads of gel and brushing it to the next century, and just thinking I was so cute," she says. "I always thought I had an eye for that stuff." She also had a philosophy: Hair allowed you to reinvent yourself, which was perhaps particularly critical to a little girl with big dreams and a troubled reality. "I had done something I thought was really, really, really cute, and I showed my neighbor," she says. "She was like, 'Why'd you do that to your hair?' And I never forget what I said: 'I'm someone new in this hair.' "
"Nicki basically owns pink," said hairstylist Terrence Davidson, who collaborates with Minaj on her wigs. This one took him five pieces and two days to create. At the shoot, he brushed the curls, set them with hair spray, and dabbed on a bit of serum.
Minaj, who is working on a fashion line, has major plans for world domination. "I never thought about music as just being the end-all, be-all. I always looked at it like a business, something that I could create an empire out of. So that's why I'm only about to put out my second album and I'm already thinking about this," says Minaj. "I had a little conversation with Jay-Z at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. He said, 'Congratulations on all your success.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I'm coming for you. I'm coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul.' "

Family Guy is for kids, they just have to be 14. So if a parent tells you that you you can't watch it, show them that little box that shows up on the side of the screen that says TV14. Happy Watchings, thank me later.

The Hot Fashion

What would a Nicki Minaj clothing line look like? As with most adventurously dressed stars, people can't help but assume that she will release one eventually. And Minaj has made it clear she's an expansionist, already taking on a series of ambassador roles to a number of mega fashion and beauty brands. On the cusp of breakout fame in 2010, Minaj predicted to Rolling Stone that she would be heading her own clothing line within "five years' time." That achievement may come much sooner: according to her manager Cortez Bryant's recent interview with The New York Times, the singer's designer dreams are already nearing fruition.

Minaj hopes to "negotiate a deal with a fashion house, so [she] can sell her own line of clothes," said Bryant, calling it a major priority for the performer. In a stragetic shift within the singer's managerial setup: last year, Bryant was brought on board, along with other key industry players, to help position Minaj prominently within the style sphere. A spate of front-row Fashion Week appearances, key fashion covers, and her H&M and Versace performance and televised Victoria's Secret gig suggests 2011's publicity blitz worked its magic. In 2012, she raises the stakes and will be taking over for Lady Gaga as MAC's Viva Glam Ambassador.

Minaj's keen interest in fashion permeates her overall media impact, with proudly style-obsessed lyrics that salute Vogue editrix Anna Wintour and headspinning red carpet ensembles that never fail to generate discourse (both good and bad, depending on which side of the blog spectrum you fall). Her songs would make great titles for spunky fashion editorials; suitably, a Pink Friday-themed line of nail varnish for OPI is in stores now.

For Minaj, fashion is a mandatory complement to her music and a craft she'd like to hone into a career of its own. Her own audacious stylings suggest she won't be producing looks for the faint of demeanor. But even if the extrovert drifts behind the scenes soon to create a new breed of wardrobe mischief, she'll still be very much in the public eye. On "Muny," the song where she imagines herself conversing with Vogue, Minaj makes her intentions clear: "Ayo, Anna Wintour, I’mma need that cover, baby girl."- http://www.mypinkfriday.com

I will be adding a new segment to to The Hot Spot and it will be The Hot Fasion it will be daily updates of cool clothing for teens, boys, girls, and... Maybe adults.
I never realized how much The Help influenced people, in the old days, and how controversial the subject-to-fact primary source is. This movie is 5 stars!! *****

The Twilight Saga is one of the best reviewed movies ever. It still will be on my blog also. This movie is about the sweet-hearted Bella moving from Arizona to the strangely mysterious town of Forks, Washington. It is an epic saga about the love triangle between the emotion confused Bella, the dreamy vampire boy Edward, and the amazingly conflicted Jacob. These books and movies are things I would recommend to any one. Go #TeamTwilight

BOOK REVIEW: I am reviewing the books/series of THE SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS. This is a series about the Bauderline siblings, they are Violet, Klause, and Sunny. They go the a great deal of events to really figure out who murdered there parents. There parents were in a house when it indescribabley burned down to ashes. This book is the type of book for people who love mystery, and excitement at every turn. This book will force your attention to keep reading. I give this book 5 STARS for good plot development and keeping the author gasping. I would recommend this book to anyone with a good sense of intelligence.
FASHION ALERT: Arm Warmers with a cute pink skirt, green leotard, flower ring, hair feather, with pink extensions (preferably neon colors), leg warmers (neon colors), and big bulky bracelets, and feather earrings to complement the hair feather, and a nice high top shoe to top it all off.
